Wind energy is an alternative energy method which is produced by transforming the kinetic energy of the wind into electrical or mechanical energy so that it can be put to practical use (i.e., electricity, water-pumping).

Wind turbine systems are used to generate wind energy and these systems include a rotor or blades that spin with the wind and convert the wind’s energy into rotational shaft energy. This energy is then sent to a generator as electric power. Wind is a renewable energy source and does not produce air or water pollution or emit greenhouse gases.
